Hurricane Ike, Tuesday, power back

the lights wenck on at about 01:00 this morning.  Yay.  The conoco in dickinson on 45 had plenty of fuel, with no lines.  I filled up.  Lots of places still don't have power, but normalcy is returning.

Hurricane Ike, Monday Afternoon no power again

A transformer blew last night, and my neighborhood no longer has power.  Sigh.  The good news is that the weather is incredible - low humidity and temps in teh 70s.  We should have a lof of about 58 tonight.

OT is still down, the block has no power either.  Go to forums.nonewbs.com

Hurricane Ike, Sunday Morning, fash floods!

So now a cold front is coming through.  A nasty one.  There's rain and thunder and lightning and it's causing flash floods, hampering rescues, and power restoration efforts have mostly stopped.  Looks like I got really lucky - I am one of the few people with power and housing quite a few people in and out.

OT is still down.  Nothing to be done about it.

Hurricane Ike, Saturday night, I have power!

Just got back in from looking around, the power is back at the house now.  I'm the only neighborhood in the area with power.  It was kind of eerie driving around after dark - no lights, no stop lights, and the sky was dark and beautiful.

As I said before in the previous post (from my phone) I went by the following houses and checked for damage.  There appears to be no damage to any actual house, not so much as a broken window, but the yards are in various states of destruction:
Yonley (and my jetski was happily floating in the yard)
Derrick
Kittle
Zeek
Warthen
Gryder
